Time tracking, tasks and team chat for humans and AI agents

Time tracking for teams where AI agents do some of the work. Agents log their own hours via an MCP server, and the free plan covers unlimited people instead of charging per seat.

Hourtick is a time tracking workspace built on the assumption that some of your team isn’t human. People track hours through a Mac menu bar timer or the web app, and AI agents connect over a public MCP server to log their own time, update tasks, post in chat, and pull reports. Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and Muse are all supported, so agent work shows up on the same timesheet as everyone else’s.

Tasks and team chat sit alongside the timer rather than in separate tools, which matters most for agencies that bill by the hour and currently reconstruct what happened from three different places. There’s offline sync and a REST API for teams that want to wire it into something else.

Pricing is unusual in a good way. Both plans include every feature for everyone in the workspace, and the only difference is usage. Free is unlimited people with 500 MB a month, and Pro is $29/month for 5 GB with extra storage at $10/GB. No per-seat charge at either tier, which makes it cheap to bring a whole team in before deciding whether it sticks.

What we like

  • Free plan covers unlimited people, with usage limits instead of per-seat pricing
  • AI agents log time and update tasks themselves through a public MCP server
  • Time tracking, tasks, and team chat live in one workspace

What to watch

  • Usage-based limits mean heavy file and chat activity pushes teams to Pro
  • Reporting and integrations are thinner than established time-tracking incumbents
