Extract.FAST
Extract images, text, audio and metadata from any file in bulk.
Around 45 extraction jobs across PDFs, Office files, images, video and audio, run in bulk and returned as one organised ZIP. EU processing with files auto-deleted about an hour later.
Extract.FAST pulls things out of files, and the range is the point. Images from a PDF, Word doc, PowerPoint or Excel sheet. Speaker notes from slides. Form fields, annotations, fonts and links from PDFs. EXIF and GPS from photos, colour palettes, QR codes, icons from EXE files. Frames from video or GIFs, audio tracks as MP3, WAV or M4A, subtitles, chapters from audiobooks. Embedded attachments from Office files and .eml emails. It’s roughly 45 distinct operations rather than a single trick, and the bulk workflow means you point it at a batch instead of repeating yourself file by file.
Output is the part most tools get wrong and this one handles properly: you choose exactly what you want out, images, plain text, Markdown, OCR, page renders, metadata, and it comes back as one organised ZIP with per-file progress along the way. Pro plans handle up to 1,000 files in a batch, and there’s a documented API if you’d rather wire it into something.
The privacy terms are unusually specific for a file-upload tool. Processing happens on EU servers, transfers use TLS 1.3, storage is AES-256, files are deleted roughly an hour after processing, and uploads are explicitly never used to train models, each with its own help page rather than a vague reassurance. You get 50 credits as a guest without signing up, which is enough to judge whether it fits before committing. It’s part of the Tools.FAST network, so one account and credit balance also covers their convert and compress tools.
What we like
- 50 free credits without even creating an account
- Genuinely broad, images, text, Markdown, OCR, frames, subtitles, EXIF, embedded files
- Concrete privacy terms, EU processing, 1-hour deletion, no AI training on uploads
What to watch
- Files are processed on their servers, so no self-hosted or on-premises option
- Credit-based, so large recurring batches need a paid plan
